Checklist for a commercial building maintenance in Melbourne

If you have taken up the responsibility of building maintenance in Melbourne but don’t know where to start from then you don’t have anything to worry about. Here is a checklist of your responsibilities so you can have a notion of what needs to be done:

• After every few days make sure that you carry out an inspection to check that the sprinkler systems in your building are working along with all the fire alarm systems. You need to make sure that in case of a fire, everyone will be able to leave the building safely.

 • Check the water pumps for the proper consumption and usage of water. This will not only make sure that the water is being used correctly but it will also make sure that there is no damage or fault in the water pump machinery.

 • The dry pipes of the HVAC system should also be regularly checked so the atmosphere and the environment of the building can remain perfect. If the HVAC system fails to deliver the optimum level of coolness or hotness, then it would make an unbearable atmosphere for your employees to work in.

 • Make sure that the garage and parking area is maintained in its pristine condition. This is because this is the area that creates the first impression on the people who visit your office. The doors should be functional and they shouldn’t get stuck. Make sure that the garage lines are properly painted to give a symmetrical look to the place. The roller shutters should be properly lubricated and their pressure system should be on point.

 • If there are elevators in your building then you should pay special attention to their maintenance. If the elevator stops functioning, it can easily turn out to be a disaster.
